63' OD - meer info

63’OD

The Koch 63'OD also features both pre- and post-FX loops for adding tone-shaping pedals before the preamp and modulating pedals after the preamp. There is a 9VDC output that can power those extra pedals up to 200 mA, and is fully short-circuit protected. The remote control input can be used with MIDI switchers or other external switching devices. Finally, there is a balanced XLR DI output with line level signal, speaker emulation and ground lift for connection to recording or mixing consoles, and a 1/4" output with switchable levels for connection to any type of amplifier or monitor. Both outputs can be used simultaneously .

The Koch 63'OD is the perfect tube preamp for rehearsals, recording, touring and fly-ins where you need to take 'your sound' with you. We use only the highest quality components for the best sound and reliability, and we've housed the 63'OD in a sturdy, yet lightweight aluminum enclosure.

Koch's tube-driven guitar preamp with classic vintage overdrive, OD Boost and maximum functionality!

The 63'OD guitar preamp is just as at home in your practice room as it is in the studio or on stage. Whether you use it as a standalone preamp or in combination with your pedalboard, your guitar signal can be routed to any amplification device, recording or mixing console, and to any monitoring system you use.

The 63'OD has two independent channels (Clean & Overdrive) that share a 3-band EQ, plus a Boost switch for higher gain. The Clean channel focuses on clarity and full frequency response to accurately reproduce your guitar's tone. The Overdrive channel fills out your clean tone with the fat, tube-driven mids and saturation that made guitar stringers legends in the '60s and '70s. The Boost switch takes those great blues/rock tones to the next level for solos or just a heavier drive!

The Overdrive channel thickens that sound with a lush contemporary gain that can be boosted to high gain with the Boost switch, for flat-out chunk or those singing leads with almost endless sustain... that will take you from the pop world to hard rock with a few silent switches.

The Koch Superlead also features both pre- and post-FX loops for adding tone-shaping pedals before the preamp and modulating pedals after the preamp.

Pedaltone II

Pedaltone II

The last feature of the Pedaltone, the famous Koch Solo/Rhythm control, has been replaced by two separate footswitchable Master Volumes: Rhythm and Solo volume. Enabling this feature allows the user to double two (foot-switchable) volume levels per setting (a user-adjustable 'Rhythm' and a user-adjustable 'Solo' volume), doubling the number of settings available to 16.

Last but not least, the FX Loop allows you to add your favorite effects, while the headphone jack ensures the Pedaltone can be used anywhere, anytime.

OTS function explained

OTS stands for Output Tube Saturation. We installed an All-tube, single-ended, 0.5W power amplifier with drive and volume controls. This gives you the effect of a fully powered tube amplifier. What you hear is a great saturated sound from power tubes being played to their maximum capacity. This feature can be added to all channels, giving you more sounds at your disposal. The OTS is placed between the pre-amp and power-amp section. This feature is a unique "Koch" feature!

When Dolf Koch decided to design a tube preamplifier for guitar, he felt that it should combine as many high-quality features as possible. The result of his efforts is the Pedaltone. Heavy-duty components, housed in a stainless steel shell, combine two individually controllable channels with a host of options that leave the user at their disposal with no fewer than 16 separate sounds!

Channel 1 Clean, Channel 1 Enhanced, Channel 2 Distortion and Channel 2 Distortion Boost provide the first four sounds. The first three 12AX7 preamp tubes send these classic Koch tones to virtually any input imaginable: from your favorite amp to any type of recording/PA console.

The fourth 12AX7 tube acts as a 0.5 watt Power Amp, with its own gain and volume controls, adding depth and attitude. In the original version this function was called "Power Amp", but in version II we called it "OTS" (Output Tube Saturation).

It has also been redesigned for a fatter tone, and moved Post-Effects Loop instead of Pre-Effects Loop. By combining this OTS feature with one of the first four sounds, the user now has the choice of eight individual and unique settings.
